It’s been a long journey, but we’re excited to share with you the launch of our new brand.
With our new brand now launched, we we wanted to tell you more how it came to be, but also about our founder, Mark Tickel, and how he came to be the face of Afresh Accountants.
The story behind “Afresh”
In setting up the brand, we wanted to come up with a name that represented our location, but also combined that sense of starting anew with an accountant who helps remove worry and provides that helping hand you’ve been longing for.
Brighton is a beautiful beachtown, the fresh air, the freedom, the open sky, the soaring birds. When we were brainstorming names, we kept saying phrases like “bring your head above water” or “start afresh” and we kept coming back to the latter.
As you’ve probably gathered, we settled with Afresh Accountants, a name that encapsulates reconnecting with your business and working with someone whose motivating and helping you look ahead.
Meet the founder, Mark Tickel
Before setting up Afresh, Mark had previously been a Partner/Director in a large Brighton based accounting firm.
Throughout his career, Mark observed a number of technological changes, with the last few years seeing the emergency of cloud accounting software and connected apps. It was this that helped Mark take his role to a completely different level.
Now, Mark would be the first to admit that he loves his job, as he’s combine his many years of experience working with numerous businesses and real-time financial numbers to make a positive impact on those he works with.
Truth be told, Mark always wanted to be a teacher, and now, with software at the helm, his passion is teaching clients how to really understand the numbers that matter in their business and reduce the worry and stress that can sometimes result from dealing with business finances.
You can hear from Mark directly about how important this is:
“For me running a business should be about the freedom it brings you to do the things that you want. I’m very fortunate to be in the position that I am and my career has given me the opportunity to spend precious time with my kids as well as provide financial security to enjoy the things that are important to me. I want to know what my clients’ “why” is so that we can work together to achieve their goals. The journey does not just end with a better business but should result in a better life. Making money and paying tax is just a by-product of that.”
What’s in store for the future?
Over the coming weeks, you’ll see more from us, the tech we use, and how we can support you in being better with your numbers and what technology you can use to ultimately craft a better business.
That’s all for now!
